The grid coverage in the rural areas is highway-only, the cell tower density is lower, and the civilian population density provides noise for the dampened emission."
"Daejeon is 160 kilometers south. On foot, that's—"
"We're not walking 160 kilometers." Sora looked at the phone's battery indicator. 17%. "We need transport. Something that doesn't connect to any logged identity."
"Dohyun's operational vehicles are in Seoul. Moving one to your location requires someone driving it down, which creates a vehicle trail."
"Then find something local. A rental through a third party. A purchase. Whatever puts us in a vehicle within six hours."
Minho was quiet for a moment. The tactical assessment running.
"I'll call Dohyun. He has contacts in the logistics sector who operate through corporate vehicle pools. A vehicle checked out from a corporate pool for inter-city delivery runs wouldn't generate the same data signature as a personal vehicle rental." He paused. "Six hours."
